Midnight companion.

Feline friend.

Our eyes meet, from across the half lit street.

We greet in the middle. Like long lost chums

And so we have a seat, on the corner like bums.

Two watchers observing the night, even bugs don't dare come bite.

We try to chat, about this, or that.

But I soon realize. I'm talking to a cat

And then i soon wonder. I wish i had a car.

We would go places. no matter how far.

When we meet here like this, our peace together.

Two of the same kind of soul meet like brothers

I stand back up to face my midnight companion, my feline friend

I'm afraid it's late and our talk must end. But don't you worry

I know we'll meet again.
