You don’t deserve the love

You ruined callously,

You don’t deserve my body

Or any part of me.

You’ve broken all the ties

That bound your heart to mine,

How foolish of my part

To become what you designed.

I wish I could forget you

And match your very pace,

You’ve always been the fastest;

You always win the race.

And though I’m not like you;

I wish that you could feel,

The wounds that you have caused

And decided not to heal.

Perhaps, I am delusional

I keep saying: ‘It’s not fair’,

As if you give a shit;

As if I’ll make you care.

Damn! Intense stuff, Lis. I'm speechless because this is something that many of us can relate to in our own ways. Solid rhyming, sweetheart. Nice work.

You speak what I cannot. Thank you, jaylisbeth. :)
Beautifully penned, rawly written, an almost bitter but remorseful write- which everyone in toxic relationships can relate to. well done.

This is an exceptionally well written poem, JB. Raw honesty... you were lured into a relationsbip that has turned toxic, your eyes have been opened... you know the score. Great rhyming my friend!

The toxic part of a relationship does not deserve the love part of a relationship. They remind of the people who The Joker talks about, and that is schemers. They think they can run a person, control their heart and emotions, and bend them to their will. When the one with love opens their eyes, it's amazing how soft toxic becomes. If someone cannot love you, or care for you, then they deserve the venom of you walking away, and flying to where the skies are blue. One person will always try to control the relationship, but two hearts are meant to pilot that plane. I don't know why one person will want the parachute all for themselves. Lisbeth, always be the love part of a relationship, because you are far stronger than the toxic part. Defend your heart, open your eyes, walk alone for a new start, the toxic dies. I'm honoured to be loyal to you. I'd rather be your friend than the enemy. I want to protect you rather than hurt you. The toxic has no redeeming qualities. The love has immortal redeeming qualities. I learn that through your poetry. I love your venom as I love your rhyming. Stunning poetry :)

Strong words powerfully delivered. The fire of truth burns bright in this piece. Those last two lines are a painfully true blow that leave their mark after reading. It's a hard revelation to come to terms with, but it is the fact of the matter.
Excellently written, my friend. The measure of pain, honesty, anger, and dejection swirl like an emotional storm in this piece.

You do a great job of showing no matter what one feels, it doesn't always have any effect on what another feels Jaylisbeth...Tom...

When a computer asks for the code, you have to tick in the right one. If you don't do so, you're not going to get into the system. We as human beings walk around making that everything is okay, when it's not. Don't do that. Clear your system, and make sure that you feel good.

Yeah, sometimes people in relationships just don't care. That's when things become very toxic, and you captured the frustration very well in this poem. Great job!
