I ponder my existence here in this place

Why was I set down among the human race?

What is my purpose among my fellow man?

Please someone help me understand

I serve as friend, daughter, wife, mother and grandmother

Is my role just this or some other?

Where comes the part when I see the forest for the trees

Where comes the part when I am here for me?

I have struggled most of my life here on this plane

Done what is right, tried not to complain

My life has been a tough one to row

The seeds bitter ones to sow

Yet through the pain there has been joy

Wonderful family, the love of a boy

That love fulfilled and grown

Children come to call my own

Now as twilight comes on nigh

Those children have litlle ones of their own

A life fulfilled of promise true

Some hardships fought, some gains anew

Battles scar my weary soul

But blessings fill up the empty holes

Promie given of great treasure to hold

My life a gift so great to behold

There is no me, but only we

On family, on unity

Without the core I am undone

Without the many, I am not one

No me without we

On I without family

That is my purpose, that is why I am here

It is finally so clear

My family is my chance

To make my soul dance
