In this country we got it good

Democracy, freedom

We get trials before convictions

Unless you're Sandra Bland

Or Freddie Gray

Our justice system? Dope

It's swift and fair for all-

Except grieving black moms like Irma Burns

Black widows

And fatherless black children

Alton Sterling left behind 5

We love these kids cuz they're our future, ya know?

We defend our youth, lift 'em up

Or shoot 'em while they play

Tamir Rice was 12

Here, we can be white in our back yards

Our white hands can reach for our drivers licenses

Hold skittles and cans of tea

We can laugh

We can call for help

Knowing we're protected and served, we breathe easy

And wonder why Eric Garner couldn't
