Last Night

I don’t go to bed sober anymore.

I see you across the bar, you’re just my type
A drink in your hand and a distant stare.

The night is filled with tequila and dancing on tables.
Second chances have never burned like this.

I don’t go to bed alone anymore.

In the dead of night, we don’t act like strangers
We shed our regrets, like the clothes on our backs.

All teeth and desperation,
I can feel the hurt he’s trying to bury.
It feels a lot like mine.

When dawn begins to break
We’re strangers again, who go our separate ways.

I come back home;
With the scent of the night before,
His name is on the tip of my tongue.

I just can’t recall,
What happened last night.
