I Am a Bird

In a cage with bars so wide

If only it were not a disguise

My captors took me from my nest

They took me from my sky

Now I pose for all to gawk

In my cage covered in glass

With holes just enough to gasp

I am praised for how tall I stand

So full of pride

I can see the outside crystal clear

But overtime that vision will disappear

I use to spread my wings so wide

Now I am restricted and confined
