Broken Mind

by Logan J. Eccles

I am my worst enemy.

You are my best friend.

As a child I believed in you.

Now I pay no mind.

Oh please Lord forgive me for my broken mind.

I was redeemed by your love but given a chance I ran.

No place in mind just carried by the thoughts I have inside.

Oh please Lord forgive me for my broken mind.

Brought back to life I praised you.

Now while I live I forsake you.

For no reason but my guilt within.

Father why do you love me when I don't even love myself?

Oh please Lord forgive me for my broken mind.

I've given up.

Yet you say "Stay strong."

Even when I believed the Evil One.

You came and said "Child come along."

Lord why do you love me when I don't even love myself?

Oh Lord please forgive me for my broken mind.
