Race is a word that describes an ethnicity

Racism is a term that discriminates anyone particularly

I live in a city filled with thousands of people

But this city is the most segregated and feeble

We are told we live in a free country

But all I see is people trapped by a social anomaly

We are told we can do as we please

Yet when we speak up we get shut down by the authorities

Races are said to be living in peace

Yet I hear how the killing never seems to cease

White against black and black against white

A life is a life, a blessing that some hatefully smite

Some say black lives matter and some say white lives matter

But all people are the same showing that all lives matter

Not one person is alike in any shape or form

But when we’re born we come out the perfect form
