Behind the glass
Eyes wide in disbelief
At first a glance
Transformed into a trance
Mouthing the words you can't hear
Breathing so heavily, so close yet
Fogging the glass, my vision disturbed
Transparent barrier, Holding back my advance
Frantic for the attention I no longer have
Fade away just as the residue
Tears wash away the evidence
Flow through me, salty river
Clear blood on this brown surface
Rainbow reflecting the light you shine
Was broken, now whole again to love
Built brick by brick by kind words and affection
Self image restored, positivity infectious
Deafening blow to the senses
Still wide eyed and frozen
Watching the being you've chosen
To replace the usual support
Shallow lust in exchange for deep rapport
Red sciera, sunset hued
Night falling as pupils dilate
Happiness the sound that breaks
The silent cry now while mouth agape
Changes gentle men to vengeful wraiths
While memories long dead continuously play
Pretty pedies prancing through mental landscapes
Memory lane well trodden, muddy road now crimson
Life's currency dripping through soiled fingers
Countdown beating til all cognition ends
10 days and counting since the smile's direction changed
9 since my name was no longer your refrain
Long walks shorten to minute conversations after 8
More arguments than agreements 7 before this moment
Days blurred due to absence as I cease to function
3 days bleeding through, love life flashing so purely
2 more until I can no longer remember your voice
And 1...and 1...1...more...just once more...say that...
You...
...love...
beep...beep...
beeeeeeee....
