“The Forest Queen”

The forest was not dark, because darkness has nothing to do with the forest, the forest is made of life and light, but the trees moved with wind and subtle creatures,

In silence sleeps the forest queen, As dark the shadows creep unseen, Light of candle slowly wanes, In this forest queens domain,

Silvered stars through canopy, As shattered beams through oak’n tree, Hoots an owl forevermore, To queen asleep on forest floor,

Bullish frogs expressing woe, Reclining where the cattails grow, Away to whisper nevermore, As shadows creep on forest floor,

Smiles moon maiden all adore, While tales she spins of years before, Creatures all now gathered there, rabbits, wolves and grizzly bear,

By the sleeping forest queen, Are angels sitting quite unseen, Moon maidens yarns they all adore, As shadows creep on forest floor,

Midnight my friends a forest queen, Sleeps in silence quite unseen, Hoots an owl forevermore, As shadows creep on forest floor,

The forest queen in shadows there, Protects her wolves and grizzly bear, As shattered beams through oak’n tree, Shine silvered stars through canopy.
