“The Fool”

Somedays I drink

others I don’t

most days I

just don’t care

don’t give a

fuck

what people think

it’s my private

war

not theirs

pump up the

sound

to drown them

out

their faces

upside down

can’t take

another day

of this

burn their world

to the ground

dislike the sun

live in the

dark

shadows

follow me

around

I want to

scream

can’t take the

pain

but my voice

doesn’t make

a sound

I take a

stand

they knock me

back

a fool who

shouldn’t have

bothered

trying to be

what I can’t

see

a rebel

who’s just

a martyr

I turn my

head

and walk away

as my life

goes

round and round

I try and

live

but just pretend

it’s a lie

I’m chasing

down

can’t play these

cards

a losing hand

what difference

does it make

I’ll try once

more

to even the

score

but tonight

I drink,

I drink…
