Trick or treat?

Your voice got softer
When you need your way.
What way was yours?
Often misconstrued
They fall for your tricks
Your ambivalence

Situations gone awry
Twisted, turned into a lie
Flipped my life upside down,
Yet think that you deserve a crown.
Ready or not,
Love was sought.
But what was found?
Destruction, hate, hell’s gates.

The Serpent

Through each situation,
You’re a new person, conformist.
Body like a snake,
The Serpent himself.
See him? Contorting, twisting, fitting.
He’s the Man of the hour.
Dripping like solid gold, are his words.
The “audience” stands captivated.
Almost frozen, I’ve lost my tongue.
Unable to speak, I’m no match
- For you.

I thought you were sent from heaven,
But you came straight from hell.
clawing, scratching, gnawing me down.
Not even “God” can save us now.
Te hodiste. “fuck it.”
Pobrecito. “Poor thing.”
Cooing like a child who steals your heart,
Never to return.

The first phase brings intrigue,
Overwhelming emotion.
The honeymoon phase.
Fast-tracked to knowingness,
Suddenly no secret can be kept.
He reads your face like a book.
Open hearted, you cannot see past the blurred words your eyes as the tears fall
and you can’t catch your breath.
Breathe, darling. It was only a white lie.

Shot of tequila

I see you
Skating away
Skirt chaser
Alcohol induced love
Drug hazed fiend
Double shot
No salt
No lime
Straight alcohol to burn away
Your thoughts, condolences, intimidating sneers
Burns away your resolve, yourself
