“You have a voice,” they say,

“That can take people’s breath away.”

“You can make a difference,” they tell me.

“You can spark someone’s vitality.”

But who wants to hear what I have to say?

What I’m feeling? What I’m thinking?

When I don’t know myself

What’s inside me to be said?” When I’m sinking?

“You have a voice,” I hear.

“You have the answers to the questions asked.”

But, what do I believe?

What do I know to be true?

How can I know the answers,

When I have questions for you?

I don’t know who I am.

I don’t know where I fit or where I stand.

I don’t have a signature or a style,

Or any thoughts profound or worthwhile.

“You have a voice,”

Is what I hear them say to me.

But, to that I say… I ask,

“What voice? … Who Me?”
