We merge

pulled closer by cold hands

moon’s light

and morning's delight

casting animalistic shadows.

The ocean embraced us

seeping salt

drifting as driftwood

we didn't hang on.

Howling into the night

the wind carried our

coyote breath

echoing into star lit skies.

the moon looked upon our

coyote feelings

snarled faces

home places

the night belonged to us.

We would never die out

for our union was too strong

that which bonded us

under darkness's gaze

would live on to eternity.
