come closer rest

come find me and grab me

nuzzle upon my breast

send me sweet dreams

of my foreseeable future

and fill my head with a kaleidoscope

of butterflies

that travel down to my abdomen

and nestle between my thighs

show me the life I always imagined

where words off pages come alive

and fantasies are not in vain

where the red cardinals rise in the morning

singing the notes of his name

find me rest

as my head hits the softness of pillows

and I exhale the hardness of day

white, Egyptian cotton sheets

swallow my body

in a comfort I cannot convey

hold me rest

put me in a sleep so deep

I can’t even feel his absence
