Your light caress

I have twisted myself

to never expect

yet when received

my need is clear.

How long will I last

in this moment

when there is so much to love

glimmers of me and her

instances of real

fleeting visions of the wand waved

and the nightmare melting away.

How long can I last

my new self, bursting to emerge

formerly caged by cognitive and earnest

now held by therapy to give time

and soon we are to be separate?

Panic held tight

new skills laid to waste?

Emotive paths just cleared

soon to be overgrown with disuse?

No, never going back

Cognition and diligence have combined forces with emotion and passion

Who will I share this with?

This reborn, untested me.

Who will I caress?

Who will play with me?
