The Look

He’s sat himself down right opposite me and he’s giving me that look. He knows he’s irresistible, that I find it so hard to say no; it’s too soon. For some reason he has yet to accept that you can have too much of a good thing.

His eyes are fixed on me, boring their way in to my consciousness. I must not look or all my resolve will simply melt away. I know that but still I let my eyes momentarily meet his.

I only meant it to be a quick glance but his eyes are holding me now, won’t let me look away. As he looks he moves closer and then closer still.

He licks his lips and at that moment I know that I have lost and that the victory is his. I stand up on to my feet and walk across the room, straight to the biscuit box.

He might have won this round but at least he gave me his paw!
