Four Walls

Four walls, no door,

no window to look out;

one wall is Depression,

another one is Doubt.

Then there’s Disillusion

and Anxiety;

they all feel like they're closing in,

as though they are crushing me.

Like some up-standing coffin,

I’m trapped here within;

no way for me to get out

and no way to let you in.

It won’t let me go now,

I cannot, me, defend,

it seems that I am trapped inside

until the very end.

It feels that way, but the walls are our creations. We can tear them down, as much as we think we can't. You illustrate the power of those four walls potently here, Hully. They're not easy to overcome.

True. I wrote this last night -- a product of insomnia. Thanks for giving this a read, Jeff.

A dark place to be, Hully, but in the darkness at least you possess a wonderful gift to escape to. Keep writing... keep escaping!

Melancholic Wisdom

I can relate to this, sometimes you get caught up in your own head and the walls can close in on you. Well done, Hully
