30,000 feet, smartphone in airplane mode,

Tessellation of the surface, like a censored photo.

Cirrus clouds, streaking across the ocean blue sky,

747 whisking me away, to a brand new area code.

Have you ever seen a sunset, from an airplane?

A halo around the sun, guardian angel of the Milky Way.

Moonrise on the east coast, sunrise down in Brisbane,

The Atlantic shimmers like diamonds, in the moon rays.

Crossing the border between Tropopause and Stratosphere,

Yet we’ve got no clearance, we’re illegal immigrants.

Love the 21st century, they’ve got free Wi-fi and serve beer,

Keep my phone off, though, cause I want some alone time.

Globalism, the philosophy and ideology of modernity,

Spider-Man spins a giant web, we’re always connected.

A little bit of Individualism, never fucking hurt nobody,

Low on battery, need to recharge, I’m an introvert after all.

Ask the pilot, “how high can we take this motherfucker?”,

Maybe into the Stratopause, wave hello to a weather balloon.

Stars look like fireflies from this height, a peaceful summer night,

Somewhere past the horizon, is the curvature of the earth.

On this Pale Blue Dot, is everything that I fucking know,

Yet it all seems so small, now, perception has changed.

Like a new pair of glasses, I can see the world in HD,

Self- Actualization, me and the world temporarily estranged.

30,000 feet, smartphone in airplane mode,

Tessellation of the surface, like a censored photo.

Cirrus clouds, streaking across the ocean blue sky,

747 whisking me away, to a brand new area code.
