Where’s Ken?

Look at me.

Am I not perfect!

Your dreams in plastic,

wrapped in mangled fashion,

crippling foot-wear.

I’ll never nag,

nor criticize;

no I’ll always agree

with any opinions you air.

Oh, come on now,

don’t look away,

there’s no need for you to be shy,

I’m here for you, a made up babe.

Look! You can pose me.

You can unclothe me.

I’m not going to fight

or bite, or aim any ridicule towards you.

I’m made for you.

I’m made for those to copy,

those more fools that can not see

that they can never be a plastic me.

I’m like a carrot,

something to aim towards

to mimic, and copy.

You’ll never get there but they’ll steal your pride.

And your plastic card

as you buy in to their promises.

You’ll torture yourself,

debase yourself,

but my plastic perfection

is out of your reach.

There is only one thing though;

none of the men I’m seeing

are quite measuring up,

are all in some way lacking.

They are not him,

won’t ever be him;

I want my own plastic perfection --

where’s Ken?
