The falling man, wax wings melted away,

A rapid descent, from the stratosphere.

Sober, everything becomes so clear,

Flew too close to the sun, I’m Icarus.

Exiled from Heaven, just an angel falling,

Humility in the IV, detoxifying my blood.

Infected by arrogance, made me colorblind,

Couldn’t see that all the flags, were painted red.

Untouchable, standing on the edge of a cliff,

Didn’t feel like a human, I was the ubermensch.

No cessation, never thought about the what ifs,

Middle fingers skyward, saying fuck the future.

Quote a Drake verse, to justify my actions,

“I’m here for a good time, not a long time.”

Self destruction, caught in the 21st century trend,

Asbent of an Achilles Heel, infinite traction.

Not a firebender, burn scars with full coverage,

Slept in history, now destined to repeat it.

Sins of the Forefathers, coded into my genetics,

Kamikaze at sunrise, a loss of leverage.

A silver tongue, oral thesis filled with lies,

A poison pen, death by a thousand words.

Crucify me, with all the fiction as the nails,

A butterflies wings, topples the house of card.

Chain reaction, dominoes keep on collapsing,

Ego death, the weathered man, can no longer stand.

Like sweating after a showering, a cycle of relapsing,

Negative space, thumbs permanently pointed down.

The falling man, wax wings melted away,

A rapid descent, from the stratosphere.

Sober, everything becomes so clear,

Flew too close to the sun, I’m Icarus.
