NOW
A very famous bible verse that comes to mind is Proverbs 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding." If you just look at this proverb as just a regular sentence with no previous beliefs or attachments  you can break it down logically. The first part of this sentence is eluding to what the second part means. When you trust in something with all your heart this means you have no worries allowing your mind to be quiet, and just enjoying whatever it is for simply what it is. If GOD is the consciousness or life force that allows this body to experience the first part of this verse is just saying to put all your trust in the present moment. It goes on to say, "lean not on your own understanding." If you were completely engulfed in the present moment trusting it with your life you will have no reason to use your mind. So this verse is saying to trust GOD or our own pure consciousness, and don't let your own understanding or belief of the world misguide you because at the end of the day we are all making up life as we go along. Why is the present moment so important? besides the fact that it is the only thing that has ever existed to anyone, it also shows your true identity.
What does this even mean? To answer that you have to understand what the present moment is............................................................................ it's the sense of you that questioned why I have so many dots before I answered this. This was just to take you back to your memory where you remember what the sense of I is with no attachments. When you were in thought and asking yourself why the dots? pay attention to the fact that your true self-was aware of that thought thus implying you are separate from thought. Try to use your imagination and see if you can think of yourself having a different sense of I, or if the sense of I can even be different. For me, the sense of I was not able to be changed not even through imagination. Maybe you can think of yourself as a different form but if you were that form wouldn't it have the same sense of I as you do right now. For example, a dog has the same sense of "I" that you do we just have a more complex perspective, but the fundamentals are the same. If so this must mean the sense of I is made from the same thing or coming from the same thing. The one thing that is the singularity in all of our cultures no matter how different we think we are is the belief of a GOD. If you were GOD wouldn't you want to live through your creation as the experiencer for the satisfaction of creating something so amazing in the first place. Kinda like if you were to spend a lot of time and passion into a certain project you want to spend as much time with is it as possible because you became emotionally invested. Same thing here but because of its subtlety we're are just now becoming aware of this fact. To end this with something useful that you can take away I want you to think of yourself right now in this moment. Not the beliefs you have, not the thoughts, not the physical body, not your material attachments just you. What does it feel like to be the pure sense of "I"? Does it feel personal? Is this a feeling or a being? Is this something I can make up with imagination? Is it a certain place or is it everywhere? asking yourself these questions when you're in tune with your pure self-opens the door up for insights you will be very pleased to discover.
