The sun and land were  happy together. The land loved the sun- bloomed Life from its rays, but the void sea loved the stars and the night.

While the moon turned its face and was fickle in space, the stars always shined, and the water often sighed at the distance so far. I am so alone, it cried. The sun is shallow with its rays, and the best beauties are so far. Won't you come closer, so we can be together, this tide only bothers me- back and forth from the shallow moon, a luminary that only reflects and has no pure light, while the sun is only boastful and vain, the land's blush unreturned.

The stars felt the distance painfully as well, but hesitated to leave their homes so far. But in a spur of courage, they flew from the sky, and sailed towards the earth. The stars shining so brightly as they burned and sputtered in the atmosphere, some into a plate round and thin as a coin, others into a stiff imitation of their true form.

They floated over the surface of the sea, which embraced it with love. The flat coin, the sea painted an emblem of its former beauty on the face. And this is how sand dollars and sea stars were born.
