It usually begins at night, with the drop of a leaf.  A papery sheild, green, tanned and cracked.

Clouds in the sky drift, silently.  As every tree dances and shimmers, together.

Casting a rain of leaves to scatter onto the ground.

Static stems lie deep and low down, trunks of gnarled and flaky bark,

From Oak, Elm and Maple.  Among the forests of the world.

They mark the time humans call, Fall.

Hanging rainclouds shrug in the coldness.  Many creatures roam to and fro.

Displaying that most vivid and stunning Autumnal show,

Silent movies become natural reality,

Nonchalant shadows of the Moon, prance.

After a long yawn of longer months,

Fall shivers into Winter.

The Fall has gone to the Dogs.

Snow beckons around every jungle corner.

Ready to forget, those mellow days of FALL.
