I clench the sword bestowed upon birth,

gaze towards the sky and await your sign;

the magnificence and splendour of your magical talent

to ease my troubles and assure me of your love.

I spend my time spotting celestial bodies

you so generously taught me to find in the night;

then I hear the delicate tread,

I see your beautiful eyes glisten in the dark.

Come to me my truest love,

let me take your hand and press you to my chest;

the beating of our hearts is as one,

feel that we are one body, of a mind sharing one love.

I go to you for I cannot wait,

of my passion, you gasp in delight;

these are the hours meant for us,

when you are my queen and I am your knight.

Speak not of my tenderness for you,

act on it and live for every moment we are spared

that it is only us;

no one else be of bother.

When the waking hour approaches

we shall depart,

I will take with me your gentle touch;

safeguard my heart and our intimate thoughts.

I return to the castle and to the realm,

if they need me not, I will see you upon this night;

live virtuously my spring maiden and covet our love,

know that I long to hold you again.

I woe the day we are discovered,

or that you might be married off;

I long to call you wife, but it shall never be so,

until we must part, I cherish naming you ‘my love’.

Until we must part, I cherish every night.

Thereafter we depart, I shall always serve as your knight.
