Today I wrote another poem

That no one else will read

It gives away too much

And I can't afford to let anyone see

Today I didn't lie to myself

As my hands played across the keys

I knew it would be our secret

Kept between my device and me

Today I stopped denying

That which I truly am

A monster some would think

Though really I'm just a girl without a plan

Today

Well

Today I hung my head

Sucking in sharp breaths

I seen the things I've done for what they are

And i know I'll never be anything less

Than another tainted spirit

A whisp of shock across dim faces

Another moment in time

that my mind erases and replaces

With a need almost as strong

As the one that holds my mind together

Holds my mind in place

When I can personally do no better

Today

I decided to just stay quiet

And not etch another letter

I'll let this build inside a bit more

Because today

I'm a little better.
