I like the line in Men in Black where J quotes to K that "it is better to have loved and lost than never loved at all" where as K pithily replies "Try it sometime..."

Just a free form poem dedicated to all unrequited love.

Tell me you love me

And I will sing of lands filled

With glistening joy and

Far flung kingdoms of no regret.

Whisper you miss me

And I will rise in wonder

A child awakened in splendour

Amidst flowers of radiant colour.

Touch me softly

And my desire will burst in thunder

Blood blushing to the surface

In perfect heartbeats.

Follow me with your eyes

And I will exult in every movement

Born anew in rapturous enchantments

Freeze framed to the strobe

Of your slightest blinks.

Caress me with your glance

And my skin will shiver

Like the softest sheets of

Unblemished silk

Fluttering in a scented breeze.

Meet my lips with your kiss

And fire will ignite my arteries,

Sparking my soul into a wilful youth

Of unequalled eloquence

For I have wasted a lifetime

Missing you

A soul without form

A shell with no substance

Wise without knowledge

Lost in a frenzy of inaction

Waiting for a love

That neglected to arrive.
