Once upon a time, there lived the happy family of Mr. Cris Tobar and Mrs. Magda Tobar. They have two beautiful daughters. The elder is Deary and the younger one is Dora. Mr. Cris finished a Bachelor Degree of Hotel and Restaurant Management and worked as a Manager in Maya's Hotel. He is very hardworking, dedicated and religious person. Mrs. Magda didn't finished college because of financial problem, but she is very loving and supportive wife and mother. She also works as a cashier at Maya's convenient store. The elder Deary is on her fourth year high school while Dora is in her fifth grade in Elementary. Deary is a hardworking, intelligent and responsible daughter, she always receives awards in school while Dora is a bit opposite to Deary, she likes to go and hang out with her friends and she didn't want to study her homework, assignments and activities. Mr. and Mrs. Tobar always try their best to bring their children with them in the church to attend mass. Oftentimes, Dora refuses to go with them, she will make an excuse that she'll study because according to her they'll be having exam the next day even if it's not true. Months passed, Deary already graduated high school and she is the valedictorian of their class. Her parents are very proud of her and Dora feels envy. Deary decided to take Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science because this was her dream since she was young. She likes experiments. She is a full-merit scholar since she is the Valedictorian of their class. She is already provided with free tuition, with uniform and book allowance and monthly allowance except lodging. She is much honored to receive that kind of scholarship, it has a great help to her and also to her parents. She chose to enroll at the prestigious school of the country. This is the first time that she'll be far from her family. Two days before Deary's first day of class, the Tobar family go to church and attend mass. At this time, Dora go with them because Deary begged her. After the mass, the family send Deary to the airport for her flight to where her desired school is located. With teary-eyed, they hugged each other and bid goodbye. Deary arrived safely. She boarded at Merry's dormitory. She already meets new friends even in her first at the dormitory. During her first day of school, Deary meets more new friends. She is very happy and she tells her parents about it. Her parents are very happy for her except Dora, she is jealous with her sister. She feels like their favorite daughter is Deary. Mr. and Mrs. Tobar tried their very best to not let Dora feel that way but it is sometimes not effective. Her father even begged her to change her bad attitude. She still keeps on being hard-headed. She never listens to her parents advices instead she always hang out with her friends and went home late at night. Dora's friends are bad influences to her. Her parents are always worried about their daughter, Dora. One day, Mr. Cris took a leave because he wanted to spend quality time with his daughter, Dora. He said that he'll cook Dora's favorite Adobo. Dora at first didn't agree but she go for it when she smell the delicious adobo. They first took picture and send it to Deary. They happily eat together. Mr. Cris said, "I hope we will always be like this." Mrs. Tobar smiled as well as Dora. When Deary saw the photo she said that she miss home, she miss her family and also the delicious foods cooked by their father. Her parents also said that they miss Deary very much. They exchange sweet words and said goodnight except Dora she's just silent. The next morning, Mrs. Magda went to their room to wake her husband up but what she'd noticed is that her husband is no longer breathing. Mr. Cris is dead. About five years ago, he was diagnosed of heart failure, it is already stage four. The doctor just gave him treatment and medications to take. A day before he took leave, he went to his doctor and the doctor said he only have not more than a week. He never told his family about it instead he meaningfully spent his remaining time with his family, as if it is his last. Mrs. Tobar called Deary and she cried. She promise to go home as soon as possible. Dora is just silent but you can see it in her eyes that she is sad at the same time guilty for how she treated her father when he's still alive. She blames herself for her father's death and for the first time she asked sorry and forgiveness to her mother and to Deary. She also asked forgiveness to her father who is already in the coffin. She asked her mother "Is it now too late Mom?" "It is not too late Dora, you still have the chance to change everything that you've done, to correct everything," her mother answered. She hugged her mother and also Deary and said, "Thank you for giving me another chance, I love you." When everything is settled, Deary go back to continue her studies. Dora is also now inspired in her studies. After four years, Deary already graduated as Magna Cum Laude of their batch and Dora is also the First Honor of their class. "Congratulations! I am very proud of you girls and I know your father is also proud for the two of you, thank you for giving your best," their proud mother said. "All of these are not possible without your love and guidance, thank you very much, we love you Mom" the two daughters answered. They hugged and kissed one another. Deary works as a teacher in her proud Alma Mater. Dora is now in her fourth year high school. She is planning to take Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management in college in honor of their father. Mrs. Tobar is very proud of her girls. Dora already changed a lot, from a bad girl to a very good and inspired daughter. Deary is soon to be married with her co-teacher, Mr. Almond Prise. Mrs. Magda Tobar already owned the "Two Bar Hotel" which is soon to be managed by Ms. Dora Tobar. They are living happily with contentment in their lives.
