Sky Castles

There are palaces on air and
'There are giants in the sky';
There are worlds around invisible
To all but certain eyes,
There are genii and magicians,
There are dragons, there are bears,
There are knights in shining armor--
There are castles in the air.

Every cloud is a foundation
For a tower and a wall,
Silver lining is the moat
Protecting proud,  elaborate halls,
Continents of my invention
Ruleed by kingdoms, rule by kings,
Hanging hidden in the heavens,
Keeping safe inside their rings,

Every palace standing empty
'Till I summon up the souls
Which will ride on the adventures
Hunting dragons, hunting trolls;
 Led by men who are true heroes,
And true rulers, and true Men,
Fighting battles, solving problems,
'Till I send them back again.

I've been told it can be risky
To build castles in the air:
Paper turrets aren't reliable--
But I don't really care.
In a world that spins so quickly
That it's "Real World" vs. You
(And the dragons always smile),
What's a person, then, to do?

Some people turn to music,
some to super-stars--but I,
I carry little swords and
I build Kingdoms in the Sky.
