In 2018 it is hard to find who you are, what you love, and not only to love someone else but to love yourself. I've always been the girl in the shadow wondering what it's like to be invited to event by other girls. As I got into high school, I found out that it is not like how you picture in movies. Everyone is much more harsh, much more rude, and much more shaming. If you are not skinny, and you do not wear the cutest, most expensive clothes, or you don't act like a perfect girl should, you are shamed and you never feel comfortable with yourself. But in this world, a perfect girl does not exist. I would beat myself up over not being like everyone else. I was the "weird" girl that would wear band shirts, sweatpants, and dye my hair all the time. I was never called normal, but who truly know what the standards are for normal?

Never lessen yourself as a person just because someone tells you who you should be and what you should do. Never take anything for granted as it can all be gone in a split second. Love yourself no matter what happens, whether you are a different race, gender, or you have a different sexuality. If you are gay, say it loud and proud. Never try to change yourself to fit someone else's standards or how your life should be lived. You can't love someone if you can't love yourself for who you are and what you have made of yourself.
