This poem is not meant to be offensive to anyone, nor is it meant to relate the views of the author, but only to make known the honest views held by some people in the world.
Be forewarned.

What god is this you bow to?
You are free;
You bow to none.
Wars are fought for freedom
Which, by bowing,
You abuse.
No king is here! Imaginings
Are not worth kneeling to;
So bow to none
And ask no gods for blessings.

You owe no god your fortune:
It is chance,
Or it is luck.
You have worked too hard to credit
All your work
To someone's god.
You are god! As far as glory comes,
It all belongs to you;
So bow to none
And give no gods your worship.

Why bow to bread and plaster?
They are dead--
They never lived.
Why hang your hopes on legends
Which are proved
To not exist?
You live and die--no afterlife
Will follow, only worms;
So bow to none
And beg no god for mercy.
