It’s raining down on me,

These tears of despair.

No way out

I’m drowning;

Fighting for life

Each breath I take is deep,

Complete.

Yet I’m still drowning;

Sinking in the ocean

Of despair.

I thrash

I scream,

Then I cry as I take another breath.

This ocean is not made of water,

I do not float in sentiment;

It is despair.

It chokes

It weighs heavy,

I drown on a concrete block

In the middle of the city

Surrounded by a sea of people.

I do not drown alone,

Though I am alone as I drown.

No one can help me,

But I can.

I can barely help myself,

But I can help you.
