A meadow of light

To guide me away.

Wildflowers sway peacefully

In the ever-changing breeze.

I come to this sanctuary,

To this bliss to escape,

But happiness is not what awaits.

A dark figure is lingering,

Watching with hidden, hungry eyes.

Invading this utopian paradise.

Cloaked in black, it does not move.

I look around the meadow,

Attempting to evade its gaze,

But it is everywhere, surrounding me.

No where to turn,

In this meadow of light.

Tainted by the darkness,

That is my mind.
