There in Thrill Mill

on Newbury Hill

no one lives there

not even a bear

only some old dill

on a lone window sill

Still on the window lair

vying to remain there

ever lingering herb

called essence of verb

mice hide from the violence

aroma cascades in silence

Spiders lay in the dusty shade

waiting for the eventual tirade

midges and fleas anything would do

tempted by that old spicy goo

A man returns, after many days

eating a butty, full of mayonnaise

cheese and tomato, high in dry rye

sage and onion, filled in a pie

crumbs and spindles

fly everywhere

killing a bee

that just happened to be there

the reason for the spice

was now found

by ghosts of the shed

those hollow beings abound

Sunny Thrill Mill,

was again full of dill

red onion and rice

all from old Bill

No one lives there

but now and then

spirits always wait

to be merry again

There on Thrill Mill

on Newbury Hill

spectres spend time

there for more dill
