The Legend of Johnny Fisher

It was chilly fall day as 9 year old Johnny Fisher had just finished the game of his life. A complete game shut out and one triple away from hitting for the cycle. Johnny’s Angels won 7-0. Johnny packs up his gear, grabs his snack and looks around for his parents, much like he panned the stands after every heroic athletic feat of the day. As he looks around he realizes they have missed the whole game. This is unlike them as they have never missed a game. Johnny walks to the parking lot only to find they are no where to be found. He stands around assuring all of his team mates and their parents that they will be there shortly. After a short amount of time everyone else has departed, Johnny begins to wonder whether he has been forgotten.

It doesn’t take long before Johnny decides to walk home. He gathers his things and begins the seemingly long arduous journey home. He crosses the street from the sports park only to realize that a dense fog is setting in around him. Johnny doesn’t think much about it and starts down the road. As he comes to the cross walk to cross before he begins his walk to his house at the end of the windy road at the top of the hill, he hears the music of a car stereo and the roar of an engine.

A car is coming up the road as fast as can be, Johnny attempts to leap out of the way with all of his baseball equipment. Unlike all of Johnny’s heroic athletic feats of the day Johnny saddled with all of his equipment, exhaustion of the days game and long walk can not move fast enough.  The car hits Johnny as he attempts to dive out of the way. Johnny’s attempt to avoid the car fails and he gets hit

He first hits the windshield and flies 30 feet in the air only to come crashing down to the ground in the middle of the crosswalk. The car, a Black BMW brakes hard coming to a screeching halt.  The driver and passenger both look behind them to see a seemingly lifeless body laying in the street behind them. They both look at each other and without words agree that there is nothing they can do and speed away. It turns out that will be a significant mistake. Moments later Johnny Fisher begins to move, slowly picking himself up barely getting to his feet stumbles around the street, trying to regain his balance. Finally standing in the middle of the street in his bloodied Baseball uniform and scraped virtually lifeless body glares down the street as the tail lights of the car disappear in to the fog. Johnny now filing with rage that his parents missed the game of his life, that he had to walk home on Halloween, that this careless driver not only hit him, but sped off without even a care for whether Johnny lives or dies. His eyes start to glow Red, blood continues to pour out of his wounds. Johnny grabs has Baseball gear and continues the walk home only now with a zombie like limp and glowing red eyes and a uniform covered in blood. As he walks up the hill he hears laughter coming his way. Emerging from the fog in front of him are trick or treaters in costume. As they get closer they look at Johnny and are paralyzed at the site of his glowing Red Eyes and blood covered uniform and horrific wounds. Johnny tries to speak and can only muster a painful groan. The kids immediately run the other way, Johnny immediately and almost instinctually gives chase in to the fog. Those boys were never heard from again… They learned something that Johnny had not yet known at that time. He may not have died when that car hit him, but he wasn’t alive either. The legend of Johnny Fisher has been around many years. The stories of Johnny roaming the hills tormenting trick or treaters every Halloween continues on. Many have disappeared over the years and most believe that Johnny 9 year old Johnny Fisher is still wandering around in his blood soaked Angels uniform.
