I’m complicated, you said?

I’ll take that as a compliment.

Trying to figure out

all of the intricate and unarranged designs

 of my invisible emotions

must be difficult

Do I exhaust you?

Tell me you don’t understand me

I’ll tell you I don’t understand you either

only allowing for unseen aching

suppressed by this silly arrangement

to be let out during a bit of fun

and only then

do affectionate words leave your tongue

making me whole

Your mind works just as mysteriously

And your heart, well, baffles me

How do you love so much?

And yet, let so much go?

like droplets of water dripping down

an oiled surface

while I am spongy

melting into you

liquefied

You are like complex machinery

unfolding every second

I study you, but I come up lost

when I leave you,

full of empty

winding rusty gears of emotions

I am hidden in plain sight

you just have to look

Who are we to say either way?

what is proper?

how things should be done?

matters of the heart always get messy

this is no different

no, I’m not that ‘cool’

you stand, veiled

covered up under all of your shimmer

Acting like crystal

 glassy and lucid

things couldn’t be

more hazy

more unclear

But….

I see you
