Labels and Stamps

I dislike the labels people often assign to one another. An attempt to organize individual characteristics for the benefit of the observer. A method of separating people from one another. We all have odd traits; it’s part of the human condition. The mean spirited descriptions do not lessen that fact.

Skinny, genius, slow, geeky, arrogant, awkward…..I could go on. As a teacher, I often wonder what becomes of the person who is given the label? Do they reject it? Or do they become what they are called? The behavior is a tranparent reflection of the insecure mind. The weak person who recognizes himself in others; but rejects the similarities using labels and stamps.
