When you love someone, regardless of whether your together or not, we sometimes find ourselves for lack of a better word "stuck."

We struggle to move on but, despite our best efforts our heart simply whispers, "stay, not yet."

Anchored

My heart reaches for you with stretching arms.
I tell myself, "don't feel," to no avail.
Our past is a spell enchanting me with charms.
I'm an anchored boat unable to sail.
Want not t'look desperate in "your eyes."
I chain myself up to leave you in peace.
"Your eyes" (my heart flutters); desire defies.
Search my heart. Your name is on e'ry crease.
My words drip from my heart flowing to you.
Feet fleeting fast, you vanish from my sight.
Silently shell shocked, I gaze about to
understand, "why?" within all of my might.
Forgive me my love, I'm trying, I swear.
Despite other loves, I find myself here.
