The Struggle

I was young when I began writing, first a hobby, then a curse. Quick to punchline with an extended vocabulary, no matter the subject. I would use metaphors to melt the hearts of those who captured mine, often granting them the hammer used to shatter... I believed simply in my love of writing, even when stories and characters were tied to those from before, until I learned that my pages were meant for none.

“You monster.” It was at this moment I learned to keep my writings to myself, from the topics of gods, to my beliefs on war. It is this reason that there’s a gap in my published works to this site. As much as it does to grant me motivation to see that something I wrote has captured attention, I cannot help but to continue.

“I’ll write!” I thank you for every comment, especially you, “Cat Lover.” Now, to the main subject. Writer’s block, or so I call it, lingers forever in the most obscured ways. I want to write, but it chases whatever train wanders in thought, and quickly derails it so I cannot hit publish.

“It’s not good enough. Take it down.” I feel it now. I want to lock myself in a room and write, but this is my main struggle. I’ve done this before to only write filth. I can’t force myself, but I want to, another train to be derailed. I can write as I do already, only to post once a month after pushing the other pages to another folder. I can’t even edit a story I love, only because I wish to take it down after reading...

Now, if I may hear from you, if you made it this far.

“What do you think?” Do you share a similar struggle? Comment a solution if you have one. What is your struggle when you cannot post for months? Writers, readers, I accept all comments. Besides, we’ve all a voice, and all the right.

“You shouldn’t post this.” Just might be right...
