I’ll drink tonight to drown this pain,
Because to try I won’t refrain.
I’ll cry this pain that you have caused,
Because with words I’m at a loss.
You do not listen to a word,
You’re quick to label them absurd.
And while my feelings linger,
You’re quick to point a finger.
I’m “blowing things out of proportion”,
That’s what you say; that is your notion.
You’re never wrong; always the story,
You’re always right; you’re never sorry.

Oh Jaylisbeth, I'm so sorry.
Tue, November 20th, 2018 3:51pmFighting a losing battle here, Lis. Narcisstic people are bad news. Nicely written.
Tue, November 20th, 2018 5:01pmA walk in the fresh air where you can enjoy some time away from the source of your stress could do some good too. Sometimes we need to take to our feet, to soar in the clouds that hover over our head, rather than plop down and drown in the bottle waiting in our hand.
I hope you're not losing yourself, sweetheart. Keep your confidence and don't lose sight of your goals. Don't let anyone's poor attitude trap you in a corner. Keep fighting for yourself, my dear! Remember, you're worth it!
Sorry you have to deal with such a person, J. B. What makes someone like that?--excellent!
Tue, November 20th, 2018 7:26pmBrilliant piece of work, jaylisbeth. I think you'll find a lot of us can relate to this one, especially those two final lines.
Tue, November 20th, 2018 9:06pmA nice poem Jaylisbeth, it sucks being on the wrong side of proportion...Tom...
Wed, November 21st, 2018 1:32amI can relate to this one a lot, particularly the first two lines since I have struggled on and off with alcohol dependence. But also because I end up getting blamed for a lot shit, some of which isn't even my fault or it's out of my control. Well done, Lis, you've hit close to home with this one
Wed, November 21st, 2018 5:13amAlways right, never sorry is always the case with these types of people. Take care, Lis!
Thu, November 22nd, 2018 6:31pmMe and you are going to have a nice bottle of vodka, drink and fucking forget the world. Sound good? There is always people who are never sorry, because they believe that they are a god in this fucking world. This is their story every day, and it shows how pathetic they are. They trap you in a corner, but you won't be there forever, because you have a reason for living, and you know what that reason is. Drink a bottle to feel empowered, allow it to give you adrenaline, but don't allow it to kill you. Lisbeth you are the phoenix of Booksie, and one day you will be far away from this person, because this story will end. No sequel, because the next story will be you in a better place. Such a powerful poem. You compose your emotions brilliant into words. Love your poetry, just hate what you are going through.
Mon, November 26th, 2018 8:25pmThis is all too familiar to me. I've been there, and sadly i think many of us have. A very tough situation, and i know how it feels wanting to escape the pain. You captured the despair very well. Great poem Jay! Keep it up. I will be around to read more soon!
Thu, December 20th, 2018 4:38pmPowerful words! Stay strong!!
