This might be two stories in one, but during the holidays almost everything is a special, two for one.

My wife and I were out shopping and she wanted to go to one of those Crafty Stores that I have no interest in.

Actually, I tell her that I have no interest in those kinds of stores because, if I see something in the store that I'd like to try, it always turns out badly.

Like, one time, I thought that I'd like to try pottery making so I bought some clay and a wheel; then I went to work.

After about a month, and eight pots later, I found out that I needed to "Fire" them. Who Knew?

Then I found out that the Kilns cost big bucks and I really couldn't use it for anything else. Well maybe a Pizza oven, but Pizza and false teeth don't work well together. So, you see, there wasn't any point.

I ask my wife if I could use our kitchen oven for Firing the pots.

And I'll just say that she said no.

I'll put it that way because I can't remember all the colorful phrases that she came up with. And I wouldn't repeat them if I could.

Anyway, that finished my pottery making career and taught me a valuable lesson; don't go into Crafting Stores.

Where was I? --- Oh Yah!

I asked my Wife to drop me off at the "Juice-Bar", it is a little place that serves all sorts of healthy blended drinks. My favorite is the Apple-Banana-Blueberry Blend; I have them add Greek Yogurt and Walnuts. It's great.

I told Mama that I would buy a Smoothie and then walk home. The Juice-Bar isn't all that far from our house, and besides, I needed the exercise.

Well wouldn't you know that Bert, my best friend, was sitting at one of the outside tables? He was drinking some sort of weird-looking drink; it was all greenish with what looked like tiny-tiny bits of banana in it.

"Hay Bert, what's the Skinny? I said as I approached his table.

Bert looked up and responded with one of those "I'm happy to see you but you're not getting a smile" looks.

"Are you going to be here for a spell?" I asked, grinning.

"Are you written a book?" Bert asked as he snickered.

"I'll get a drink and join you," I replied as I went inside.

After I got my drink, I sat down across from Bert and we discussed the weather for a few moments.

Then, after Bert took a drink from his green concoction he stated, "These drinks should come in upside-down containers."

I laughed and stated. "I don't think I'm getting your drift. What is an upside-down container?"

Bert pointed to the container and said, "It would be something that lets you drink from the bottom.

All the good stuff in my drink is heavier than the juice, so after awhile the good stuff falls to the bottom of the container and all I get is just the juice from the top."

I thought for a moment and then I handed Bert one of the Juice-Bar's "Super Jumbo-Straws."

Afterward, and aside from Bert's slurping, there was silence.
