Walking through the garden gate,

Past the garden gnomes,

“Could it be . . “ thought Harry,

“Could Dad be home?”

He raced downstairs like the speed of sound,

to see who it could be.

“Please be dad, please be dad”

Sadly, it wasn’t to be.

It was his stinky older brother

That made Harry sad.

“Oh, it’s you” he grunted

All he wanted was Dad.

The key then turned in the back door,

the door flew open wide.

Harry raced in to the kitchen

“Dad!! Dad!!” he cried.

Harry was greeted by Truffles the dog,

closely followed by Mum.

He loved to play and muck about with Truffles,

but today he couldn’t help but be glum.

Harry was moody.

Harry was sad.

All he wanted

was to see his dad.

Dad had made a promise

Harry hoped that he could keep.

He’d been excited for weeks and weeks,

he almost forgot to sleep!

Harry had lost all hope,

he was beginning to think hid dad was lame,

then a key in the lock and the door bursts open

It’s Dad . . . “HARRY, WE”RE GOING TO THE GAME!!”
