It wasn’t until you left

my room

that I realized

I had come undone

sweet and quiet, yet,

you starved

which is why

you found me

meeting on an

overcast day

laden with

cheerless clouds

an hour and a half of Scottish time

and there

I was the most exciting part

of your life

but only for a moment

after all, you promised nothing

but a green-eyed gaze

at a hotel

with narrow hallways

surging, it took me by surprise

a clean, sharp, slice

opening into a swollen wound

of firey desire

bleeding drops

dripping down

down

down

like too much paint on a freshly painted wall

splattering on the pavement below

'no strings attached'

Then why do I feel so

completely enveloped

by you

overtaken

in the sweetest way?

Once you’d gone

the room was empty

except for me
