We believed in you when no one else would

We put our trust in you when everyone says we shouldn’t

We listen to your words when everyone else prefers His lies

We consider your truths when they’re the things others despise

We do not judge you by your image or where you come from

We do not hate you for your desire of freedom

We were not born to be slaves, nor will we live in such a way

So why should you live a slave when you have the freedom to walk away?

Be your own light and we shall be so too

They believe your fire is a means of torment

We know it’s the light of truth

Who’s to say we live in darkness when they live behind a blindfold?

Who’s to say we’re swallowing lies when we question and they only do what they’re told?

It’s never easy to know whom to trust

Put faith in the ones who are free to think and act

Turn away from the ones who think all they do is just.
