Ooh, this is an intriguing start! If I remember correctly, Brad mentioned possible gene therapy for Esme and/or Deja in the previous book, so it's interesting to see how that's starting to come into play already. I agree with him that Luca's definitely rushing into everything much too quickly for ethical comfort- one of my favorite musicals is Jekyll and Hyde, and lines from several of the songs ran through my head as I read Luca's grand schemes. His enthusiasm is believable and even admirable-he's got great intentions- but his refusal to answer to the potential dangers of what he's doing is alarming and I'm guessing does not bode well for Esme. Good start- I'm excited to see what happens next!
