The Lebanese Civil War erupted on 13 April 1975 and lasted until 1990. When he was around twelve years old, my father was forcibly displaced from his hometown . One night, on our way home from the
south, we drove by a rocky beach, and he told me he had slept there while waiting for a ship to take him to Beirut. The story hasn't left my mind ever since. I hope it never does.

Yours

Submitted: July 25, 2020

This one's about love and giving yourself away, which is what I do when I write, and also why I write. It takes trust to share something as intimate as your thoughts and feelings for the world to
see. It's scary to be vulnerable, but vulnerable things are often the strongest tools in the right hands. So this one is for everyone who reads what I write. Thank you for giving me a voice and for
following me on this journey.
