Free me from my thoughts

Black wings clip the sky

Blackbird of mine

Open the empty gates

To a sky full of stars

Where the otherworld sings to me

My soul resonates with your counsel

But I am ghastly afraid

Wisdom possessed by the learned

Yet I do not learn from my mistakes

My spirit hurts,

As would yours if your wings were clipped

An entourage of feathers

Whispering regret

Cascading to the ground

Like drums beneath the earth

I flip a card dreaming of Rebirth
