There are unspeakable things behind closed lips,

My screams and cries unheard.

A constant echo fills my ears of unbearable sounds and words.

I don't want to hear,

"But I want to."

Behind closed eyes my imagination wanders,

Yet reality still seeps in,

Petrifying me with unimaginable images.

This is a sin.

I keep my eyes forcefully shut but nothing will help me now,

The smell of smoke fills my lungs and strangles me like his hand.

And all the while I feel nothing at all,

A switch has clicked off in my head,

That was night I decided, I would have been better off dead.
