Four days a week, I drive to Denver from Colorado Springs. This poem is just some of the things that I observe.

My Ride To And From Work

Brian Lee Clements

The drive to Denver is sunny at best,

But sometimes it can give me stress,

I try to leave at nine,

Which should give me some time,

To get to work by eleven,

With some help from heaven,

The interstate is the way to go,

I hope I don’t need a tow,

The drive takes about an hour and twenty minutes,

I hope it doesn’t drive me nuts,

No snow today so it should be an easy task,

Unless there is a crash,

I try to drive the speed limit,

But some people are not into it,

Some of them drive way too fast,

They must have an important task,

Like watching TV or something like that,

Maybe drinkin a beer and getting fat,

When I get home, I am a little tired,

And sometimes, I'm also a little wired,

So, that is why at the end of the day

I always end it with Chick Fil-A.
