Ode To The Heavens

Look down upon the earth, ye serving lanterns of the night,
Ye holes of heaven through which once the evil army fell,
Ye windows to The Glory showing glimpses of the light
Which Lucifer rejected, being banished into Hell.

Sing out with ringing voices, paint your pictures for the earth
Of gods and kings and hunters and the greatest stories told,
Within your constellations let us read of death and birth;
Orion and Apollo, and the crowns of queens of old.

O poets, write your sonnets praising these, the suns of night;
The planets which align themselves; of Jupiter and Mars;
The galaxies and universes clustered 'round their light,
And infinity sing praises to the God who made the stars!
